The Prevent Drowning Foundation of San Diego provides funding through the SD Swims Grant Program to help expand access to swim lessons and water safety education by connecting schools and nonprofit organizations with licensed swim providers.
Application Deadlines
Fall 2026: Applications closed September 14, 2026.
Spring 2027: Applications will open in November 2026, with an application deadline of December 4, 2026. Please check back for the application link.
Funding Priorities & Criteria
To maximize the impact of available funding, priority is given to:
- Schools within the 4th quartile
- 5th-grade classrooms
- One grade level per school
- One grant award per school or organization per year
Funding is limited, and applications are reviewed based on eligibility, available funding, and alignment with PDFSD’s funding priorities.
