As we navigate through 2020, our foundation continues to adjust to this new normal. We have had to cancel our summer fundraising events, such as the Public Pier Jump and the Swim 24Challenge. With this in mind, we find ourselves getting creative with resources as we stay focused on our priority, TEACHING EVERY CHILD IN SAN DIEGO COUNTY HOW TO SWIM.
Drownings are a public health issue and the allocation of resources disproportionately affects African American, Latino, and Native American populations more than any other racial group. It all starts with learning how to swim. Swimming is a life skill that is not easily available to all demographics in our community.
What can you do to help? For the month of August, we are kicking off an online “Swim ON” fundraising campaign. Proceeds will fund swim lessons for children in our community that need it most. By clicking Take Action you can give directly or can create your own fundraising page to support this important cause.
