We are excited to announce the SD Swims Grant recipients for Spring 2026, continuing our mission to prevent drowning by expanding access to swim lessons and water safety education for students across San Diego County.
Through the SD Swims Grant Program, schools apply for grant funding and partner with local pools to provide swim lessons and water safety education to 5th-grade students. PDFSD funds these grants, helping ensure students gain essential skills to be safer in, on, and around water—many of whom would not otherwise have access to formal swim lessons.

Why SD Swims Matters
Drowning remains a leading cause of accidental death for children, and research shows that formal swim lessons significantly reduce drowning risk. By focusing on 5th-grade students, SD Swims helps reach children at a critical age—building confidence, awareness, and life-saving skills that extend beyond the pool.
Help Us Reach More Students
Demand for swim lessons continues to grow, and community support makes this program possible. Your donation helps fund additional SD Swims grants, allowing us to reach more schools, more classrooms, and more students in future grant cycles.
Together, we can continue working toward a future where every child has access to life-saving water safety education.
